There is a reason that so many beauty aisles at the store are lined with an ever-expanding variety of products claiming to be miracle acne cures. Not only are companies trying to tap into one of the most profitable niches of our market today, but they are trying to convince people just like you that their products are all you need to clear up your skin problems forever.
The problem is–how can you tell what products really work? A lot of acne products today require you to wash your face twice a day, and sometimes use their brand of toner, moisturizer, etc. to maintain acne-free skin. Can you imagine how much money you would be spending over your lifetime just on acne products?
For those of us who have struggled–or currently struggle–with acne, we’ve all tried our fair share of products, and it can be exceedingly frustrating to waste money on the products that don’t work.
So, what about the growing number of websites and e-books that claim to know of a natural acne treatment? Can you really change the way you eat, increase your intake of water, and get in a few more hours of exercise a week and see your face clear up?
Most people are skeptical at the thought that eating healthier, drinking more water, and doing a bit of exercise can have the power to clear up acne. Why then, do thousands of dieters report a significant change in their skin’s health? In fact, many dieters claim their skin becomes clearer and even more youthful-looking.
You may be surprised to learn that not all acne is caused by oily or “dirty” skin. Another contributor to acne can be the things you put into your body.
You can probably guess that eating oily or fried foods is going to be named as a culprit of acne, but that is only the beginning of it. There are a lot of other dietary and lifestyle concerns that could greatly reduce your acne, if not clear it up all the way. Stress and hormonal imbalance are other common causes of acne.
The only short-coming that people find to the healthy diet and fitness approach to treating acne can be the commitment required to maintain what is essentially a change of lifestyle. One has to remember that whichever treatment option is chosen, it will most likely require a lifetime commitment, either by using acne products for the rest of their life or the transition of eating habits to a healthier style (not to mention the energy-boost and overall increase in health that will result).
